Write a Limerick for National Limerick Day!
Buy Thinker: My Puppy Poet & Me
Happy National Limerick Day! Do you know how to write a limerick?
In a limerick the first, second and fifth lines have the same rhythm and rhyme. The third and fourth lines rhyme with each other too! So the limerick goes: AABBA! It’s easier than it sounds! Here’s an example:
There once was a small puppy poet,
Who was smart, and didn’t he know it!
My name is Thinker,
I’m a bit of a tinker,
Now write your own limerick! Go for it!
Now try it out yourself on the attached template!
- Thinker picked as the best diverse children’s books by The Evening Standard
- Read review by The New York Times!
- Hurrah! Thinker nominated for Kate Greenaway Awards!
- Read a review by IBBY UK: Thinker is warm and lively!
