Cinderella of The Nile is an ancient fairy tale, the earliest known version of the popular story, dating back to Ancient Egypt. It tells the story of the kind and beautiful Rhodopis, who is taken from Greece and sold into slavery in Egypt. When Horus, the falcon-God, swoops down and steals her slipper, Rhodopis has no idea that this fateful act will lead her to the Pharoah! Cinderella of The Nile is the first in our One Story Many Voices series, exploring stories that have a shared global heritage and have echoes around the world.
