Gifted – @tiny_owl_publishing. Thank you so much for sending me this book. I had coveted this one since I first saw it so was very excited to receive a copy. Felix After the Rain is written and illustrated by Dunja Jogan and translated by Olivia Hellewell. I think this is possibly the first translated picture book I’ve read. * The book deals with mental health in a way that is very easy to visualise. Felix has been carrying around a black suitcase and ever since his Grandma died, something has appeared inside. When the suitcase is opened, Felix finds himself in the middle of a storm but afterwards he feels calm and light. * This is an uplifting book and one that could start many conversations about feelings and letting them out. I love the illustrations and the choice of colours, shapes and patterns would be another way to interpret the feelings. * * * #felixaftertherain #dunjajogan #oliviahellewell #tinyowlpublishing #englishpenaward #teaching_texts #kidlit #picturebooksofinstagram #childrensbooks #bookstagram #ilovebooks #ilovepicturebooks #readeveryday #raisingreaders #readingisfundamental #picturebook #littlereaders #fortheloveofreading #booksforsmallreaders #earlyreaders #earlyliteracy #kidsbookswelove #youngreaders #childrensliterature #booksforchildren
