Pre-order Thinker: My Puppy Poet and Me

What’s more exciting than a puppy? A puppy that is a poet, of course. Both Thinker and his owner, Jace, are poets, turning the world around them into verse. One day they’ll have the whole world figured out. For now, though, Thinker has to keep quiet in public, and he can’t go to school with Jace – he might recite a poem, and then Jace’s friends will say he’s weird. But when Pets’ Day comes, and Thinker is allowed into the classroom at last, he finds it harder than he expected to keep his rhyming skills a secret. Meet them both in our latest poetry book for children Thinker: My Puppy Poet and Me.

Thinker is written by Eloise Greenfield, author of of 47 books for children. Eloise has received many awards and honours, including the 2018 Coretta Scott King-Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement and the Award for Excellence in Poetry for Children from the National Council of Teachers of English. Ms.Greenfield was born on May 17, 1929, in Parmele, North Carolina and grew up in Washington, DC, where she still lives.

Ehsan Abdollahi is the illustrator behind Thinker. Ehsan is an illustrator, animator and teaches at Tehran Art University in Iran. He creates handmade and hand-coloured paper in his collages, which are inspired by the environment, fabrics and clothes of the people he meets. Ehsan has illustrated When I Coloured in the World (2015) and the first of Tiny Owl’s intercultural projects A Bottle of Happiness (2016) by UK author Pippa Goodhart.

We hope you love making poetry with Thinker and Jace.

Thinker will be published on the 27 April 2018 and is available to pre-order now.
