We’re delighted to celebrate the book birthday of our biggest project of the year: The Phoenix of Persia!

It’s been a long, incredible journey to create this exciting project and we can’t believe it’s finally here. We’ve worked with author Sally Pomme Clayton to retell a powerful ancient story from Iran, illustrated by Amin Hassanzadeh Sharif. Musicians and composers at City University worked hard to craft the original musical composition, played on authentic Iranian instruments. We created the Shahnameh Box, a free resource for schools packed with objects from Iran and a teacher resource booklet to enrich students’ learning.

And that’s not all! The phoenix is flying to the British Library on 30th May for a spectacular launch event! Join us for a performance of the story by author and professional storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton, accompanied by musicians in the first ever live performance of the book.
