Three New Picture Books in the NYT
Stop and smell the roses . . . or take a cloud out on a walk or climb the antlers of a deer, as children’s books editor Jennifer Krauss recommends new spring books in the New York Times Book Review, including three Consortium titles. Morgane de Cadier’s Just to See, illustrated by Florian Pigé and translated by Johanna McCalmont, is a “whimsical colored-pencil dream,” according to Krauss. Pippa Goodhart’s Stop the Clock!, illustrated by Maria Christania Winardi, is highlighted in the piece for its use of color throughout the story, and Krauss also had high praise for The Depth of the Lake and the Height of the Sky by Kim Jihyun: “It’s astonishing to behold.”
