Last: The Story Of A White Rhino by Nicola Davies This sweet book tells the story of a rhino that has been captured and put in a zoo. He remembers the sights, sounds and smells of his African home, but can’t find anyone else like him in his concrete cage. He fears he is the last. Eventually, the colour rushes back into the book as he is released back into the wild and he realises he is no longer alone – he finds others just like him. Inspired by Sudan, the last male Northern White Rhino, who died in 2018, this book uses colour in a wonderful way. I love how Davies has incorporated quotes from advertising and environmental speeches into the images.
