Looking for some fun things to do with the kids while you’re stuck at home? We’ve rounded up some fun activities for you!

You don’t need to order a load of expensive resources, you probably already have the supplies you need to enjoy these activities with your little readers.

Make a fort

Looking for ways to make reading time even more exciting? Throw a flat sheet over the dining table, or a couple of chairs, and you have an indoor tent! Imagine you’re going camping and have a picnic. Throw some pillows inside and you’ve got a cozy reading nook!

Add colour to Felix

Carrying his heavy suitcase of worries, Felix is too distracted to notice the beauty of the world around him. Once his worries are set free, his world is bursting full of colour and joy! Children can colour in their own Felix After the Rain with this special colouring activity put together by author and illustrator Dunja Jogan. Download colouring sheet here!

Complete the maze

Challenge your children to complete this Under the Great Plum Tree maze! Can they reunite Mr Magarmach (the crocodile) with his best friends Miss Bandari (the monkey) and Dame Hati (the elephant)? Download maze here!

Choose your favourite animal

Children can create their own fact sheet about their favourite animal from Quill Soup! Find more more here.

Make your own protest sign

Inspired by Dare, your little readers can make their own protest sign about a cause they care about. Find out more here.

Design your own monster

Budding artists can design their very own monster-under-the-bed, just like the ever so friendly Grobblechops! Find out more here.

Experiment with colour

Children can let their imagination run wild as they colour in their own birds using beautiful line drawings from Duncan Annand’s book Caged! Download here.
