What did you like about the book? Hurry, hurry, hurry. That’s all Joe hears from his mother rushing him to be ready for school. That is all he hears from his teacher as he is trying to draw a picture of his morning. No! Stop the clock! he orders. He needs to add all the details of his morning. He needs to look at things, absorb them, include them in his drawing, the plants, the buildings, the people, the dogs, his sister’s dropped teddy. Then and only then can the clock be restarted. Faces of many colors illustrate this tale of the need to slow down, to look, to experience, not to rush. Illustrations appear as pencil and watercolor, perhaps.
Anything you did not like about the book? No.
To whom would you recommend this book? Time for feedback from the children about speed, about taking things more slowly, about looking. A provocative read for feedback from children.
