Father's Day is fast approaching!
On Sunday 21st June, all across the world, lots of us will be celebrating our fathers. It can be a special day for children and parents to enjoy together.
Sometimes it is difficult to find dads featured in picture books. They are very often either absent or caricatured. We've carefully chosen three wonderful diverse books which champion father figures. What better way to celebrate a loved one than with some beautiful books?
Grobblechops - Amir’s worried about the monster under the bed! What if it tries to eat him up? But Dad reassures Amir that if the monster family comes to play, then Amir might just make a friend instead.
Thinker: My Puppy Poet and Me - Acclaimed African-American poet Eloise Greenfield brings this adorable collection of poetry to life for young readers. Join seven-year-old Jace and his puppy poet as they put everything into verse, even when going to the park and playing ball with dad.
Alive Again - When the blossom falls from the trees, a little boy wonders, will it come back? This little boy’s questions are answered as spring, once again, brings blossom to the world and rain pours down from the sky. This beautiful poem creates hope that good things will come once again.
