Buy When I Colored in the World
Rating: 1-5 (5 is an excellent or a Starred review) 4
What did you like about the book? This story was first published in Iran in 2010 and now in the USA in 2019.
“Can you change the world?” The author has cleverly taken a word to describe something that he would change in the world, then rubbed it out, chose a color and replaced it with a new word. You can see on each page how colors express a different emotion: red roses grow, yellow lights shine all over the world, sky blue plays, silver rains and everyone had to put up umbrellas, green made wheat grow in fields all over, light blue brought peace, orange melted snow and flowers blossomed, dark blue sang, purple laughed, violet opened doors to the breeze, and pink made people well. ‘Pick your favorite color and imagine things that make you happy.’
A beautiful story with simple text, lots of colorful imagination, and a hopeful message to make the world a better place.
Anything you didn’t like about it? No
